Who is responsible

AlertPermit is operated by InnovE-Tech Solutions inc. (Quebec enterprise number 1182428236), 35 Chemin Boisé, Brownsburg-Chatham (QC) J8G 1G6, Canada.

The person in charge of the protection of personal information is Philippe Martin. You can reach him at alerts@alertpermit.com, or by mail at the address above.

What we collect

When you sign up: your email address, the language, city, trades and areas you choose, and the date, time and page of your consent — the proof required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

Afterwards: the date your address was confirmed, and a log of each send (date, number of permits, result, technical message identifier).

When you subscribe to the paid service: the customer and subscription identifiers assigned by Stripe, our payment provider. We never see your card number.

What we do not collect: no password, no advertising cookie, no audience measurement tool.

Why

Only to send you the lists you asked for, manage your trial and subscription, prove your consent and answer your requests. We do not sell, rent or give away your address.

Cookie and IP address

The site sets a single, strictly necessary cookie: it protects forms against forged submissions and disappears when you close your browser. If you sign in to your dashboard, the same cookie keeps your session (your address, signed) for at most 30 days; “Sign out” erases it.

To slow down automated sign-ups and sign-in requests, we keep for at most one hour a fingerprint of your IP address (and of the email address typed to sign in) that cannot be turned back into either.

Our providers

Brevo sends our emails; Hostinger hosts the site and the database; Stripe will process subscription payments. These providers may process your information outside Quebec, notably in the European Union and the United States. We only share what is needed to provide the service.

How long

A sign-up that is never confirmed is erased after 7 days; the confirmation link expires after 48 hours.

While you are signed up, we keep your settings and the send log.

After you unsubscribe, we keep your address, the proof of your consent and the date you withdrew it for at most three years, to show we complied with the law and never write to you again. You can ask for earlier erasure.

Your rights

At any time you can unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of every email, effective immediately, withdraw your consent, and ask to access, correct or delete your information. Write to alerts@alertpermit.com: we answer within 30 days.

From your dashboard, “Delete my data” immediately erases your sign-ups, your settings and your send log; a running paid subscription is cancelled at Stripe first.

You may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

The permits themselves

Permits come from the open data each city publishes (see Sources and licences). We keep the work address, the type of work, the declared value and the area. Any field that names a person — owner, applicant, contractor, contact — is dropped as we read, before storage: no personal permit data is collected.
